Wildflower Meadow Wreath Workshop with Debbie Anderson

Friday 6th February, Friday 6th March and Friday 17th April –  9.30am to 1pm – £90 for all three mornings .  – This beginners course is open to all whether you have embroidered before or not.  The course will go from the basics such as setting up a hoop, casting on and backing your work, alongside building up a repertoire of stitches.

We will look at different styles of embroidery and cover a variety of projects which can be tailored to students own preferences.

Whilst we will discuss the use of kits and transfers the emphasis of the course is to enable students the freedom and flexibility to create their own designs. Using templates and some simple drawing techniques students will make their own colour and design choices, but guidance will always be on hand when needed.

The first project is the Wildflower Meadow Wreath design.  This can be applied to a cushion, bag, picture or any other suitable project. This design uses up to nine different stitches, and can be customised as required. This design is made up of Sweet Cicely (a bit like Cow Parsley) Sheeps Bit Scabious, Scarlet Pimpernel and Ox Eye Daisies.

The most important part of the course is that you have fun whilst you learn.

A little bit about me: Hi, I am Debbie, I have embroidered for as long as I can remember. Initially taught by my mother over the years I have expanded my experience with courses and self-study, also I am member of the Embroiderers Guild.  Having taken early retirement from Finance I am now free to indulge in more creative ventures and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to pass my knowledge and enthusiasm for embroidery on to others.
