‘Running in the Meadow’ Notions Purse or Needlebook Workshop with Becky De’Ath from Willow and Hare Stitching

Saturday 12th July  – 10am – 4pm – £90 – ‘Through tumbling leaves and grassy meadows, full of flowers, the hares run’.

The Notions purse and Needlebook incorporate the techniques of embroidery, hand appliqué and English paper piecing and are folksy and whimsical in style. The textiles used in this design are cotton and hand dyed wool. You can choose which pattern you would like to make on the day and if you would like a wool kit Becky can provide them on the day (price to be confirmed). One pattern is included in your day but if you would like to purchase the other pattern you can buy it on the day.

A little bit about Becky……. ‘I have hand sewn and embroidered since I was a little girl, and fondly remember sitting with my grandmother as she taught me different embroidery stitches. Hand stitching for me is nostalgic, mindful, and a wonderful place to escape into my imagination. I am inspired by the countryside around me, and the changing seasons with its different flora and fauna, and the changing colours and hues. My fascination and love of English paper piecing and quilting began when I fell in love with Jane Austin’s quilt the fist time I saw it. I combine English paper piecing, patchwork and quilting with my hand sewing and embroidery, which this allows my imagination to run wild and create beautiful pieces for you to enjoy, in my folksy country style. I use a mixture of different types of fabric and hand dyed wool in my designs, to add both texture and depth. I love to share my designs with others, and encourage the creativity and imagination in all of us. I look forward to meeting and stitching with you’.
