Learn the traditional hand embroidery technique of Crewel Work to create this beautiful Pomegranate design. Crewel work refers to the style of embroidery. This became popular during the 17th century using crewel wool threads on a background of linen twill.
This design will introduce you to many of the stitches and techniques which are essential in the art of Crewel Work embroidery. They include: split stitch, seeding stitch, trellis stitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, detached chain stitch, satin stitch, buttonhole stitch, long and short stitch, herringbone stitch, block shading and french knots.
This kit includes the Appletons Wool threads, linen twill fabric and needles required to complete this hand embroidery design. Also included is a clear instruction booklet with step by step photographs will guide you easily through your project.
The traditional linen twill background fabric is provided with the design already transferred on for you.
