This charming pin cushion project is the perfect introduction to the beautiful three-dimensional embroidery technique of Stumpwork.

This simple design will introduce you to a small number of Stumpwork embroidery stitches and techniques including fly stitch, split stitch, buttonhole stitch, long and short stitch, couching , fabric painting and creating 3D embroidered petals and leaves with wire edges.

Materials included in the kit: silk ribbons, DMC stranded cotton threads, calico fabric, green cotton fabric, felt, size 9 embroidery needle, size 7 embroidery needle, size 16 chenille needle, cake wire, button thread, green and pink fabric paints, toy stuffing, templates and mini watering can.
