Get to Know Your Sewing Machine with Jayne Brogan

Saturday 8th August  – 10:30am – 4pm – £55 – This workshop is aimed at giving you more confidence to use your sewing machine to its full potential. Jayne has taught these types of classes for many years with Janome and you may well have seen her at the shows on the Janome stand!

(Any modern sewing machine suitable for this class except Bernina. Please let us know which sewing machine you will be bringing on booking).

During the day we will be covering:

Basic machine maintenance

Winding a bobbin and threading your machine

Correct needles for different fabrics

Looking at available stitches and how we can use them- altering width and length where available.

Which feet are used for different stitches i.e. blind hems/buttonholes/walking foot

Using different fabrics i.e. stretch

Using any extra feet which you may have purchased – if these need any specialist thread/materials please bring these with you i.e. threads for cording feet.

 You will need to bring your sewing machine which should be in good working order and also your manual, power lead & foot control.

 *A selection of threads and some plain fabric will also be needed.

Jayne will bring a kit for a small pincushion/quilt clip holder as a little project for everyone to take home – there is no charge for this.
