Wessex Embroidery with Tanya from The Common Thread on Saturday 17th August 2024
Wessex Embroidery Workshop with Tanya from The Common Thread
Saturday 17th August – 10am – 4pm – £60 – Wessex Stitchery enjoyed support during the 1920’s and 1930’s but very little has been written about it and there is even less information about its designer, Mrs Margaret Foster of Bath. It is a form of counted thread embroidery but is less restricting and can be combined with other needlework techniques such as Drawn Thread and Blackwork. Wessex Stitchery uses a few simple stitches to create a wide variety of stitch patterns. In this workshop you will learn a few of these beautifully creative stitches; all of which will be stitched using hand dyed threads.
(All materials will be provided in your kit – Kit price is extra, costs £30 and is payable to Tanya on the day).
