Triple Dresden Plate with Janet Goddard from Patchwork Patterns

Saturday 5th October – 10 – 4pm – £50
– The Dresden Plate blocks in this quilt are constructed from pieced wedges. Each wedge contains three fabrics. The middle fabric in each wedge creates a circular effect in the middle of the block. The Dresden plates are stitched using machine piecing and applique. After lots of experimentation I have found that the fabrics that work best with this design are those that blend together rather than those that boldly contrast so do bear this in mind when choosing fabrics. The wedges can also be made with jelly roll strips. Students need to be able to use a rotary cutter and stitch an accurate ¼” seam.

Machine stitching workshop which looks great fun and what a way to learn this design.
