Saturday 9th December from 1pm – 3.30pm – £35 – Getting started with Calligraphy. Add beauty and joy to greetings, gifts and messages with a touch of calligraphic flourish. Together we will cover a short and easygoing introduction to the history of letterforms and two significant lettering styles. From this we will build on your own personal handwriting style and embellish it to produce a selection of gift tags, greetings cards or other small projects. Many people find calligraphy a relaxing art and enjoy this meditative skill.
Modern calligraphy is a fresh, new style of decorative handwriting that is easy to create and showcases your own unique calligraphic flourish. Use a brush or pen to add joy and a personal touch to greetings, gifts and messages. Together we’ll cover a short and easygoing introduction to the history of letterforms and seven significant lettering styles. From these fundamentals we will build on your own personal handwriting style and embellish it to personalise a gift tag, greetings card or other simple seasonal project.
No computers or technology required.

Foam tipped lettering brush pens (brush nib not chisel nib) – basics provided
Inspirational quotes, literature, favourite phrasings.
Decorative stationery, placecards, gift tags and greetings cards for Christmas – basics provided
