Summertime Bucket Bag Workshop with Janet Goddard
Saturday 6th April 2024 – 10 – 4pm – £50 – This is a lovely large bag for summer days or shopping. The finished size is approximately 21” x 15” x 4” excluding the handles.
Students need to be able to use a rotary cutter and stitch an accurate ¼” seam.
Thank you for booking this class. The items you need to bring are listed below.
Requirements:
Fabric
*• 30” fabric for the outer bag (This allows for a directional print)
*• 30” fabric for the lining and inner pocket (This does not allow for a directional print)
*• 25” contrasting fabric for the patchwork and bag base
Wadding
*• 24” single sided fusible wadding
Haberdashery
• 5” x 12” vilene decovil (or similar or card or thick plastic) for the bag base
• 4 bag studs/feet
• 1 set of 23” leather piped bag handles
• Thick embroidery thread for stitching on the handles
Sewing machine, walking foot (optional) cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter, usual sewing equipment.
NB If you do not wish to add leather handles you can add fabric handles instead.The fabric quantities listed above will be enough to include handles although you will need to bring 4” extra wadding.
