This project is a techniques project where you will learn the principles of Quilt as You Go. I will also show you Log cabin as a Quilt as you Go block.
There are many ways of achieving Quilt As you Go and I will covering at least 4 of them. Different methods suit different needs.
If you would like to make your sample into something then please use the requirements below but if you just wish to learn the techniques please bring along a minimum of 5 fat quarters
1 fat quarter each of 4 light fabrics
1 fat quarter each of 4 dark fabrics
50cm fabric for backing ( could be two fat quarters of the above selection)
40 cm of border fabric, cut across width of bolt (44”/110cm)
20cm of back sashing – contrast to backing fabric, cut across width of bolt (44”/110)
20cm of binding fabric, contrast to border fabric, cut across width of bolt (4”/110cm)
40cm of firm needle or low loft wadding. (could be cotton or mixture,needs to be very thin.)
