Description
This project is a techniques project where you will learn the principles of Quilt as You Go. I will also show you Log cabin as a Quilt as you Go block.
There are many ways of achieving Quilt As you Go and I will covering at least 4 of them. Different methods suit different needs.
1. Make a minimum of 2 Log Cabin Blocks.
For each block you will need:
1 backing square
1 wadding square
Log cabin strips 2” wide, light and dark
Fabric for joining strips
The fabric can be cut on the day once you have seen the samples.
OR
2. Strip Triangles using 2 ½” strips:
4 jelly Roll strips 2 ½” wide
Wadding 11” x 42”
Backing 11” x 42”
Fabric for joining strips
The fabric can be cut on the day once you have seen the samples.
The samples of these blocks are in the photograph .
I will bring a selection of 2 ½” strips which you can use but you need
to bring wadding (50cms) and backing (calico) 50cms)
OR
Bring blocks that you have already made and we will quilt them with wadding and backing before joining them together.
Bring the blocks, wadding and backing plus co-ordinating fabric for joining strips.
Also Basic sewing kit including scissors pins, thread etc..
Sewing machine with all feet, foot pedal, leads and instructions manual.
If you have any questions email me at Helen.coverley13@gmail.com.
